my how times have changed!

May 22nd, 2009 — 8:00am

The state of North Carolina, home of the tobacco industry, just banned smoking in all restaurants, bars and public places. I am personally thrilled, not being a partaker in the tabbacky. I have a completely different set of vices. Now I can go out without having to wash my hair immediately afterward. Hurray!

Turns out an old friend Fred Flintstone was a partaker in the tabbacky. This old commercial I found on YouTube was bizarre. Can you imagine this one during the Saturday morning cartoons?!

From the Late Show Fun Fact Book, a fact for the day:
‘The very first email offered low price Mexican tranquilizers’

The painting and doll shown above are listed on Ebay this week and the auction ends on Sunday night. Click on the my ebay auctions link to view the listing!
It’s been lovely here in the mountains, clean crisp and dry air after a rainy spell. The birds are a singing and the flowers are a blooming.

May 18th, 2009 — 1:55pm

O.k. So a Happy Belated Mothers Day a week and a day late! Hope you enjoy this video by John Roberts. The comedian, not the Chief Justice. Although that would be a hoot wouldn’t it?

Love this guy, he makes me laugh.

What was I thinking?! Here I go again learning a new web platform. At least once I get it down, I should be able to update it more than once every six months! No more sizing thumbnail images, large image views. Trying to make it easier sometimes is hard – at least at the onset! Here I am feeling crazy today. Time to take a walk in the beautiful forest and cleanse my eyeball palate. As Robert Frost said ‘ The only way out is through’. Once this is figured out, I can get back to paper, cloth, scissors, paint and all the stuff that feels natural.
