Despite strange behaviors and unexplained controversies in recent years that might have tarnished him and confused his fans, Michael Jackson was loved by 3 generations in my family. This is a small and blurry picture of my daughter, Claire, many years ago, clutching my mothers copy of The Thriller while dancing in her living room. I loved Off the Wall, the Thriller of course and many of the early Jackson Five songs. I chose this video of I want you back, because it showed off that beautiful talented child that everyone loved. I love this song. Rest in Peace Michael.
Spots and Auntie are up for auction on Ebay this week, along with a few other pieces. Why not click on the ebay auction links and check them out? So far nary a bid and there is no reserve!
I have been busy painting, sculpting and doing yard work, which I find is kind of like very strenuous sculpting and so therefore I kind of like it. Lets face it, mowing the lawn can be monotonous but then again I am grateful to have a lawn to mow. Also I’m still slicing, dicing and shoveling three days at the pt deli job that I took a year and a half ago at the beginning of the recession. The roaring nineties seems like such a long time ago now! Them were the days for art selling, I’m telling ya! I’d rather be making art, but waiting on people is character building and to everything there is a season. Plus all the faces I see there are a great inspiration for doll making and portrait painting. In the faces of those asking me for 1/4 pound of sliced ham, is a future doll or painting. I suppose I am grateful for that right now as well. It’s all good people. Have a great weekend!
Well I’ve been dodging thunderstorms and tornado warnings the past few days. I think I saw the neighbors chicken coop pass by at one point. Luckily I have not had any damage to deal with, others have not been as lucky so I have to count my blessings.
I have a few things listed on Ebay this week and the auctions end Sunday night. Shown in this post are two of them. Why not go and check them out? Have a wonderful week.
Here’s an interesting thing I read in the Late Night Fun Fact Book. Did you know, ‘John Deere never cut a blade of grass in his life.’
I really enjoyed this interview with artist Jesse Reno and his perspective on art making. A breath of fresh air and a reminder of some things I know and sometimes forget. I just love his art and his patient skateboarding canine buddy and thought I’d post it for you to enjoy and be inspired as well. Be sure to check out the other interviews by Brave Art when you are at YouTube. I think they are really well done. Except for the short moments when they blurr the camera focus, my eyeballs don’t like that part. Other than that, enjoy!
These two pieces along with another doll and 3 more paintings are listed on Ebay now. Click on the Ebay auctions link to check them out. Have a lovely week.
