Etsy and Ebay this week

January 21st, 2010 — 1:43pm

eugeneEugene’s coming hide your heart girls (or gentleman for that matter, I don’t know what Eugene is into).  This Gentleman Caller is listed on Ebay this week and 20% of the sale is a Red Cross donation  There are Also a few other dolls and a couple small paintings on Ebay this week, auctions end Sunday night.  There is a garden fringed Frida inspired necklace too.

I’ve Also done some charm chain necklaces and plan to list a few on Etsy this week.  Here is a photo preview of them.  They look great on and are simpler than the necklaces I’ve done in the past few years that only Frida Kahlo or Cleopatra might wear, which are the more time consuming dramatic pieces that I love to make, but nobody these days buys!  Those necklaces can be viewed in the adornments gallery of this website.  I still do some of the sculptural beadweave bracelets for custom orders.  Anyway, back to these necklaces, they are simple and sweet and priced recession friendly.  Stop by my Etsy shop, by the end of this week, I should have all 6 listed.

Thanks for stopping by!

January 14th, 2010 — 9:18am

The frigid winter arctic blast has finally let go of it’s grip of the mountains here in western North Carolina.  I’ve been holed up hermit style in everything wool that I own and now that the temps are moderating, I’m drifting back to my cotton garments.   Welcome back, you sweet moderate Carolina winter.  Although a very cold snap is so small compared to the hardship that Port au Prince Haiti is suffering.  My heart aches and goes out to them.   You can donate $10 to the Red Cross by texting the word ” HAITI ” to the number 90999 or, if you have bigger pockets call 1-800-redcross or www.redcross.org.

Time to get back behind the mule and plow.

New earrings on Etsy

January 14th, 2010 — 9:04am

ear14So I stubbornly still list things on Etsy, even though I have never sold anything on that site!  There must be a secret and I don’t know the password.  Still, if you are interested, I have a combination of sculptural bead weave and mixed metal earrings all priced very reasonably at fixed prices (not auction).  Just click on the My Etsy Shop link to the right of this page to view them all.

Had a wonderful visit with my daughter, Kate, in NYC at Christmas.  Hung out, roasted a turkey on Christmas day, went to some galleries and saw a couple movies.  One of the highlights of my trip was a visit to MoMA to see the Tim Burton Exhibit.  Early drawings, writings and films from his high school years were fun to see and of course all the drawings and sculptures used in his many films.  It was a real treat. Have some fun exploring this site:  http://www.moma.org/interactives/exhibitions/2009/timburton/

See you next time.
