cindy riccardelli info

My home studio is located in the mountains of western North Carolina, just outside of Asheville. Before that, I lived in coastal Maine for 20 years, where I spent my time raising two great daughters and making a living filling orders from my wholesale jewelry line. When my daughters grew up and flew the coupe, I left beautiful coastal Maine for the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, seeking a new adventure, a milder winter and a gorgeous spring. I found all three!
I work in both wearables and 2d & 3d mixed media. In my jewelry, I make all my metal, flame work glass and felt components and may also use found objects and polymer clay. I use a variety of metalsmithing techniques and/or bead weaving, depending on the desired effect of each piece.

Some of those medium are watercolor, acrylic, pastel and monotype inks and printed materials, done on paper, canvas or mat board. I use found objects and if I can't find an object, I make it out of something. My figurative sculptures, or folk art dolls, are made of mixed media which may include some combinations of fabric needle sculpture, paper or polymer clay sculpture, felt, lamp worked glass, wood carving, paint and/or bead work. Whatever! I just like to make things and I like to use up my art supplies doing it!
